Meet Our Team
Hi, I’m Jerry Baker. I founded Unique Property Solutions, LLC in 2013 to help people find housing solutions that meet their needs. Some people need to sell their house conveniently and quickly, some need reliable income, and some need clean rental houses or want newly-built homes for their families. I created my company to meet these needs.
For over 35 years I have been involved in real estate in one form or another. I started out as a laborer on construction sites to help pay my way through college; I would ask the owners so many questions that one time they blurted out, “Don’t worry you will have your own company someday.” A few years later, in 1985, I did. During the nineties, I was president of J. Baker Properties Inc. a family-owned company. We developed and built numerous communities ranging up to 73 houses. I was also heavily involved with the Clark County Homebuilders Association, becoming its President in 1995 and earning the honor of “Builder of the Year” in 1996.
In 2000 I purchased a UBuildIt franchise acting as an owner/builder consultant and helped my clients complete over 40 custom homes ranging from 1000 sqft to 7200 sqft. In 2006 I purchased a large disaster restoration company specializing in damage caused by fire, water, smoke, mold, and sewer. Within that six-year period, I managed over 3000 projects in Washington and Oregon!
Times change and relationships do as well … leading to closing the restoration business in 2012 to open Unique Property Solutions, LLC in 2013. We are soon to cross our 100th project milestone in early 2021!
Outside work, I stay busy with my newly blended family including my beautiful partner and seven children (2 grown and on their own, 1 at Gonzaga, 2 in high school, and 10 -year-old twins). All my spare time (LOL) includes supporting my kid’s youth sports, enjoying all outdoor activities, staying fit, traveling, and playing my guitar.
Maureen is a professional business manager with over 35 years of experience. She has a passion for organizing and working with business owners to maximize their back office so their business can thrive. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, she has lived in the Pacific NW for 27 years and can’t imagine living anywhere else. When not working with Jerry, Shannon, and April, she loves to travel with her husband, read, and crochet blankets for friends and family.
Shannon brings over 25 years of experience in sales, service, and marketing. Her passion for helping people brought her to Unique Property Solutions. Here she works directly with those of you looking to learn about how we offer a unique solution to address your current needs. She is also a licensed Real Estate Broker, offering yet another way to help people in SW Washington. Shannon and her family made the “leap” to Washington on Leap Day 2016. She loves spending time with her family and friends hiking, trying new recipes, and enjoying the stunning views of our beautiful state.
April Velilla is a Washington State native. She comes to Unique Property Solutions with a 33-year career in residential and commercial property/project management. Her core belief in both her business and personal life is building strong relationships with people to make a difference in the community. Her can-do attitude and hands-on approach have given her the ability to work comfortably and successfully with any task she is given. She loves the outdoors and spending time with her friends and family making memories.
